Pelvic Health FAQ
-
You do not need a referral to see a Musculoskeletal or Pelvic Health Physiotherapist.
-
Your appointment may involve taking a closer look at your body and how it moves. This will give us a better understanding of your symptoms and what might be the problem. Please bring shorts and a vest top if you would prefer not to be examined in your underwear.
-
Absolutely, we know the difficulties of organising childcare. We have baby changing facilities and a seated area to allow you time to feed your baby.

A pelvic floor examination is an internal examination that means that we will examine your vagina or rectum (bottom) and check your pelvic floor muscles. Your Physiotherapist will explain how this is done. It does not involve putting a speculum into your vagina. A full explanation of the examination is provided so that you are fully informed of the process.
You do not have to have an internal examination if you would prefer not to and are free to decline.
